The Heritage Restaurant serves a predictable South Indian thali at 1 pm; the dosa is decent but the curry is reheated, so skip the lunch rush and pop in for an evening chai instead. For a quiet night, request a corner room on the upper floor; the lower‑level corridors are perpetually echo‑laden with late‑night housekeeping carts. Early monsoon (June‑July) drapes the hills in a lush, photogenic green, but the rain can render the access road treacherous – the sweet spot is post‑monsoon, late October to early December, when the air is crisp, the skies clear, and the hotel’s ageing charm feels less like a costume and more like a reluctant nostalgia.
