The visual surface

Every diagram, video loop, and category image used across Funky India. Indexed so we can spot what's broken before you do.

Editorial diagrams

6 · SVG · inline

Six server-rendered SVG diagrams — no client JS, no external scripts. Used on /about, /methodology, every region, and every mood.

EDITORIAL CADENCE · 6 MONTHS PER REFRESHResearchM1WriteM2PhotographM3ReviewM4PublishM5Then back to research — every page is rebuilt on a 6-month rolling cycle
Nothing on FI is older than six months without being checked again. The dashed loop is the discipline that keeps it that way.

Cities flow through five fixed stages. The shortlist filter is the strictest — fewer than 1 in 4 candidates clears it.

Hero video loops

20 planned · Seedance bytedance:2@2 · 5s 864×480

Five-second ambient video loops, one per region, one per mood, one per top city. Generated via Runware Seedance and served from com27.s3.eu-west-2/fi/video-loops/. Each surface degrades gracefully to a still photo when the loop isn't present.

How the site stays durable

Every photograph on Funky India is mirrored to s3://com27/fi/ (eu-west-2) at five sizes — 340 / 640 / 1024 / 1280 / 2000. If Unsplash changes their CDN tomorrow, FI keeps rendering. The S3-first resolver in src/lib/img.ts falls back to the original Unsplash URL only when a doc hasn't been synced yet.

The bucket policy PublicReadFi allows public reads on fi/* — matching the PublicReadXmas precedent used across the fleet.
